Vincent Trading is a husband and wife team Mike and Emma who founded the company after relocating to Devon in 2016. With Mike’s traditional joinery skills and Emma’s love of interiors, as well as all things reclaimed, they set about creating timeless heirloom pieces made to last for generations.
The serving tray which features here is actually one of Vincent Trading’s very first product designs.
It started out as a design made from reclaimed scaffold boards but as this was too chunky it was refined and made from reclaimed pallets. and a little lip added to stop things from falling off the sides.
Now in addition to the trays Vincent Trading have a whole range of products on offer. From small wooden boards which start at just £10 to large bench seats and coffee tables. Most items are created from reclaimed wood - scaffold boards and pallets - treated to bring out the natural beauty and warm tones of the wood.
The Vincent Trading aesthetic perfectly encompasses the art of slow living which ignores fast fashions and the urge to pander to every trend with a quick online purchase. Instead it encourages more considered purchases which become investments in your home for years to come. It always pays to buy the best quality that you can afford as well as considering where you can make a difference to the environment in your purchase.

The warm tones of the wood bring a touch of nature indoors and look lovely accessorised with woollen blankets or sheepskins.
Now let’s get back to the lovely tray. Everyone needs a tray in their life and this is a perfectly practical piece. For little luxuries like breakfast in bed or more practical situations like serving drinks or bringing food into the garden for a summer party.
This tray has sturdy metal handles and the small lip around the edge prevents things things from slipping off as you lift and carry. Every Vincent trading piece of furniture is hand-made by Mike who waxes and polishes each piece to perfection to bring out the natural beauty of the wood. Although the designs are standardised with each piece of reclaimed wood having it’s own unique characteristics, slight variations in colour shape and size mean no two pieces are ever the same.
The rustic nature of the tray design is designed to take a little wear and tear adding to the character of the wood whilst it ages beautifully over time.
