Little Greene is a brand we love because they are passionate about paint and their range of colour is one of the most authentic that you'll find anywhere in the UK.

A Rich Heritage and History of Colour

The Little Greene range of paints is carefully curated by working alongside a team of researchers and conservators to bring you a timeless palette each with its own rich history. The range spans the centuries to include colours from many periods of architectural significance.

One thing I love about the paints is that each colour has a story. Extensive research brings every colour to life with its own rich history. Many of the colours on the colour card have a little icon to indicate the era of their first use. From an authentic Georgian grey to 19th Century classic ‘estate’ colours such as Celestial Blue and Portland Stone.

Moving forward into the 20th Century there’s bright pops of oranges and greens based on 1970’s modernist interiors trends which are coming back into fashionable homes right now.

Discovering New Colours - Green

Alongside the heritage colours there is always a sharp eye on contemporary trends and this year the focus is green. The new Green Collection will be launching at September at Decorex and features 31 beautiful greens. Each with a noteworthy origin and and important place in contemporary interior design.

Since the beginning of 2018 Little Greene has worked alongside The National Trust in houses throughout England Wales and Northern Ireland to find original colour and to tell the stories of those who first enjoyed them.

The new collection features 20 National Trust derived shades alongside important greens from the Little Greene archive and the current colour card.

Timeless Quality

Little Greene paints use only natural, organic and safe synthetic pigments. They are formulated on a high opacity base and contain up to 40% more pigment than ordinary decorative paint. This gives a depth of colour which can’t be achieved with ordinary paints and is one reason why interior designers and professional decorators will often recommend the Little Greene Paint range. At Create Perfect we love them because the colour cards are always true to the paint colours. They also have a clever little trick whereby you can fold the cards so that you can place the swatches directly against the surface you want to apply them to - no more cutting and sticking!

The texture and coverage is great and the range of colours work well with the earthy Scandi style, mid century modern and contemporary homes with traditional decor which we’ve worked at recently. Choosing whites is always a challenge and Slaked Lime is one of Gina’s favourites which she loves as a sophisticated warm white which maximises light in every room.

As seen here it works well with soft greys and charcoal colours that are popular in modern homes.

There’s also a great range of finishes for every surface and the paints are quick drying and virtually odourless. This is an really great for minimising down time when project managing decorating and furniture installation.

Green and Child Friendly

Additionally if you are looking for paints with green credentials Little Greene water based paints contain very low Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) which contribute to atmospheric pollution. Their oil based paints are formulated with naturally occurring vegetable oils and everything is made in the UK and certified to the European Environmental Standard of As well as this much of the range has been certified as child safe.
