Rustic styling competition - WIN a Garden Trading bothy trough!

We love dining - both outside and inside - especially with all this glorious sunshine we've had this week.

As part of our styling services we offer a party planning package where we can help you create a concept and then source items for events and parties, gatherings or weddings.

We've heard lots recently from customers about the rustic style. A big hit with weddings and BBQs, rustic includes lots of natural materials and sparkling lights, creating a comfortable and relaxing mood but also a level of mystery and excitement.

The one thing designers don't seem to be able to agree on is whether you should keep to all neutrals or if you should add a splash of colour. We've created two concept boards to put our ideas on paper.

Now we want you to tell us which one you would use. Imagine you've been handed the keys to a brand new home and need to design one room with a rustic feel, or that you are planning a rustic-inspired party for a friend and have a fantastic marque to design.

Would you choose to use bold colours? You could add pops of pink and a burst of orange amongst some neutrals. Possibly white linen table cloths and some gorgeous pink flowers with some lighter woods. Think baking and country kitchens.

Or would you would keep it neutral? Lots of woods and greenery with natural linen or hessian. Think hand-baked bread and tree stumps.

The prize

One lucky winner selected at random on the 1st August 2016 will win a Garden Trading bothy trough to add to their dining collection for this summer. A great addition to any table, the trough is made from paulownia wood and is finished with a grey wash to really give it a rustic charm.

We love the idea of using it for bread, fruit or dried flowers, but you can use it for anything you can envisage in your rustic display this summer.

The competition is open from Saturday 23rd July until the end of the day on Monday 1st August July. Terms and conditions.
